Robert C. Schlein

Mr. Schlein has been practicing law in San Diego for 27 years. He was admitted to the California State Bar on May 29, 1981. Mr. Schlein grew up in Long Island, New York, before going off to college at the University of Toledo in Ohio. After graduating from college, Mr. Schlein served in the U.S. Army for several years. Mr. Schlein earned his law degree from Western State University.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Schlein became a Probation Officer in Toledo, Ohio in 1968. In 1970, Mr. Schlein moved to San Diego, California, where he continued his work as a Probation Officer. In 1974, he was promoted to Senior Probation Officer, and transferred to "Rancho Del Campo" (San Diego's primary juvenile detention facility) as a first line supervisor. Mr. Schlein served as a Probation Officer for 13 years. His background in law enforcement gives him a unique and valuable perspective on the criminal justice system.

Mr. Schlein has 27 years of experience in state and federal court. He has handled hundreds of civil and criminal cases, and has built strong relationships with law enforcement, attorneys, and judges in San Diego's legal community.

Christopher Hook - Associate Attorney

Mr. Hook has worked for Robert C. Schlein & Associates since January, 2007, when he was hired as a full time law clerk during his final year of law school. Mr. Hook is a native Californian. He grew up in San Luis Obispo County, attended college at the University of California at Santa Barbara, then law school at Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

Since graduating from Law School in May, 2008, Mr. Hook has worked as Mr. Schlein's associates. Under Mr. Schlein's supervision, he drafts documents, performs legal research, and makes court appearances. In college, Mr. Hook was very active in student politics. In law school, Mr. Hook was captain of the Duberstein Moot Court Competition team.
